The weather was doing its own thing, but the vibe? It did not miss!”

Then, of course, there was the bar. Now this part... I loved. 😂 Toward the reserved section was Rose Bar, a personal bar setup with specialty cocktails created specifically for the event.

The presentation caught my attention before I even tried anything. The floral details tied right into the rest of the room, and then there was the cocktail menu:

9 Alarms-arita, a passion fruit margarita

A La Lemon Drop, a strawberry lemon drop; and

Serendipity Sidecar, a mango sidecar

Even the drinks fit the personality of the event. Colorful. A little extra. And definitely not boring. I loved seeing the different colors in the drinks because they became another part of the mood.

That was something I kept noticing this year. Nothing really stood alone. The flowers played off the furniture. The drinks played off the colors. The fashion added even more personality. The music gave the room movement. And the people brought all of it to life.

At first, everybody was still settling in. Finding tables. Getting champagne. Looking around. Taking pictures. Checking out the bar. Greeting people they knew.

Then slowly, the energy started opening up. That is one of my favorite things to watch. There is always a point at an event when people stop acting like they just arrived. They get comfortable. The conversations get louder. People start leaving their tables. Somebody hears a song they like. Another person joins them. Then another. And without anybody announcing anything, the room changes.

That is where Serendipity really lives for me. Not just on the stage. Not just at the bar. Not just in the décor. It is in all those little things happening at the same time.

Somebody posing for a picture. Somebody waving across the room because they spotted someone they know. Someone stopping to compliment an outfit. People standing around talking long after they were supposed to be heading back to their seats. Somebody grabbing another drink. Somebody already moving to the music while everybody else is still pretending they’re sitting down. 😂

Those are the moments that make the room feel alive.

And this year, I noticed them differently. Maybe because I had 2025 sitting in the back of my mind. I knew what Serendipity could feel like. But 2026 wasn’t trying to recreate last year. It had its own personality.

The layout was different. The weather was definitely different. The colors felt even louder because of the gray sky. The champagne welcome added something. The bar added something. The fashion became part of the whole visual mood.

But underneath all of those changes was something familiar. The music. The people. The socializing. The expression. The way everybody came ready to enjoy themselves.

That part had not gone anywhere.

You can change the décor. You can move the tables. You can change the performers. You can get sunshine one year and clouds the next. But if the culture, the community and the energy are still there, you recognize it. You know where you are.

And standing inside that tent again, surrounded by all that color underneath a gray summer sky, I knew exactly where I was.
